So many designers picked up on this visible/invisble, body-contouring, uber-feminine trend; each in their own unique way. Likewise we can also adopt it in our own unique way. Let the pictures talk to you.

Sophia Kokosalaki - love the way she has created the corset top with bra detail underneath. SO beautiful.

Loewe - Stuart Vevers mixed orange lace with khaki, a colour blend to take note of, methinks

Just Cavalli - who knew putting a satin bra over a tank could look so sexy.

YSL - this is demure, yet sensible and you don't need to share your midriff with the world

!

military and utility wear. This trend was one of the most prominent for the entire season of shows, and just you wait for the high street collections to hit the stores.

Marc Jacobs - This dressed-up take shows a softer side to military. Loving the ruffled tiers as a contrast to the no-nonsense unfussy jacket.

Balmain - I love this shredded khaki tee, it's exactly the type of thing my parent's generation just wouldn't understand. Rebellion!

Chloe -The clean modern approach to uniform dressing. The buttons are fastened all the way to the neck - I'm loving that look more and more.

Alexander Wang - He really nailed it for me this season. Love the sporty cropped-top layering effect and flash of flesh.

Balmain (another for good measure, because they own this trend) - Distressed jeans, shredded t-shirt, bullet belt, sequined tailcoat. Christophe Decarnin, you are a genius.

CROP TOPS
crop tops has come a long way since the ’90s,  costume to a spring and summer wardrobe staple.  Crop tops are unique, fun, and a little flirty – they give off that totally effortless, laid-back summer vibe.
Though I  know some people hate crop tops  terrified as it  shows more than a little skin, but now days crop tops have been popping up in a variety of different styles and lengths that can suit just about everybody.

Timeless

Timeless classics are always greatly appreciated by every fashion loving chick out there. But....Not everyone knows how to wear them or what they are. Of course you can make your own classics.....But anyway, here are some awesome examples of fashion trends that stuck through the centuries../

1.French Nails: They have evolved from being just pure white nail polish on the tips of your fingernails to being a million different, cool colour combinations that rockstars use everyday! Try using this amazing classic in your favourite colours. Tip: Use the tip of the brush to do the french manicure.

2.Polka Dots: Polka Dots are the go-to I'm-feeling-vintage-today print. They appear everywhere nowdays and add a retro look to everything. This is my personal fashion fav! Tip: Use polka dot tights. They totally make people look at you twice especially if you where them with ripped shorts or a miniskirt.

3. Fringe: Fringed bags, cowboy boots and skirts are a common sight nowdays. I'm not sure when this trend started, but I can say for sure that it rocks and gives you a cowboy-chic sorta look.

4. Starting You're Own Trends: Whether its at school or at your tution, it always feels great to see someone trying to dress like you. It is by far the most important thing to learn in fashion. Even if people don't like the way you dress, who gives a shit? You're bound to give someone a little inspiration some time or another. Never doubt your fashion sense:)

 5 Pastel Nail Polish

1. Essie Navigate Her

(Essie “Navigate Her” – $7.14
What this polish has to do with Wall Street – the theme of Essie’s spring collection – I don’t know, but what I do know is that this pistachio green is unlike any other color I’ve seen. It’s different enough that you’ll get tons of compliments when you wear it but muted enough so that it’s not the focal point of your outfit.
If you’ve wanted to test out green polishes, this is definitely the shade to try. Plus, it has crazy-long staying power – I’m talking five days chip-free – which is a must for my crackberry-addicted fingertips.

2. China Glaze For Audrey

(China Glaze “For Audrey” – $5.73 at Amazon)
This is a perennial favorite for all nail polish addicts and it’s easy to see why: A. It’s as close as you can get to Tiffany box-blue, B. it’s incredibly opaque and C. it’s super-shiny.
Out of the five polishes on this list, it’s definitely the brightest! If you’re looking for something a bit more muted, you might like Essie’s Mint Candy Apple instead. But if you want a tried-and-true favorite to add to your arsenal, look no further than this captivating light blue.

3. OPI Do You Lilac It?

(OPI “Do You Lilac It?” – $7.40 at Amazon)
If you’re looking for a pastel purple that will look amazing on you and all of your roommates, look no further. OPI’s lavender-like shade doesn’t veer towards dusty or grey (if that’s what you want, then try OPI’s Parlez-Vous OPI) and looks bright without being gaudy. It’s a staple you definitely need in your stash!

4. China Glaze Lemon Fizz

(China Glaze “Lemon Fizz” – $5.00 at Amazon)
I know you’re probably thinking that pale yellow shades can be hard to pull off… but I promise that’s not the case with China Glazes’ Lemon Fizz.
As with the green shade above, if you want to try out yellow nail polish, this is the perfect color to start with. It’s not too garish but still offers a nice pop of color. The best part about this polish is that it’s completely opaque after two coats – a rare feat for this color family.

5. OPI Pink Friday

(OPI “Pink Friday” – $7.61 at Amazon)
Before I found this shade, I’d completely given up searching for an opaque pastel pink. As soon as I got this in the mail (guys, trust me, Amazon is the best place to buy nail polish), I knew that this cotton-candy shade was a winner. Not only is it opaque after two coats, but the color is pink without being too warm- or cool-toned, which makes it perfect for so many skin tones.
I’m stocking up on this limited-edition, Nicki Minaj-approved shade – and so should you!

maintain Demi's gorge skin with proper care (she loves her Luxe Mint Cleansing Gel, Triple Berry Smoothing Peel, and Hawaiian Nourishing Cream) and regular treatments. "Due to hormonal changes, it's common for teens to struggle with acne. But even if you don't have it, it's still important to start young with good skin care habits,
Schedule a Professional Facial
The benefits of a professional facial are many; professional analysis to determine the needs of the skin type, deep cleansing to clear clogged pores, expert advice with recommendations for a good home care routine, proper skin education offering tips and tricks on skin care, as well as tips for diet and lifestyle.
Treat the Skin Gently
if you have  extra sensitive skin, so it's important to avoid products with "fragrance" or "parfum" listed in them, which can cause the the skin to become red, dry, or irritated.
Avoid Picking at the Skin
The truth of the matter is, a blemish usually lasts 5-7 days, but the red or dark scar from picking at the blemish can linger for weeks — or even months.
Don't Over Dry the Skin
Be sure to purchase cleansers that are labeled ‘sulfate-free' and avoid the ingredients Sodium Laureth (or Lauryl), Sulfate, and Ammonium Laureth Sulfate. These ingredients can be extremely dehydrating to the skin. Try my Luxe Mint Cleansing Gel — it's a favorite of Demi's!
Wash Skin Three Times a Day
Bacteria breeds in oil, and because teenagers tend to produce more oil, especially from ages 15-18, it's important to keep oil off the skin to prevent more blemishes. If possible, wash your skin three times a day (always following with oil-free moisturizer) to keep the pores clean. At the very least, cleansing morning and night is a must for teens.
Choose Products Exclusively For Your Skin Type
Not all skin types are the same. Every  skin comes with its own unique list of challenges. Blackheads need to be treated differently from blemishes. Harsh acne products will only over dry the skin, perpetuating the problem.
Use Moisturizer
Teenage skin needs water, not oil, so by using a water-based, oil-free moisturizer they won't clog the pores — it will keep the skin hydrated.

Eat a Healthy, Well-Balanced Diet
Despite what you may have heard, chocolate and greasy foods do not cause you to breakout. Some teens can get breakouts from too much dairy or from too many acidic foods, such as fruit and tomatoes. Obviously the goal with any teenager is to get them to eat a healthy, well-balanced diet, but for the most part foods don't affect the skin as much as you may have been told.

Color Trends!!!

Interfilière Color Trends Autumn/Winter 2012/13

Apparently the colour trend for Autumn/winter 2012/13 is out!!
Naturey colours are in! Golds, greens and browns are going to make a huge appearance!!!!

Get Started

Sometimes the hardest part of accomplishing something is finding the motivation to get off your bum and just do it. It’s like going to the gym. We toss out excuses left and right and say we’ll do it tomorrow, but tomorrow becomes the next day, and the next day … and before you know it, goal has become vapor.
The same applies to school – just squeezing by is not fulfilling, personally or academically. You’re cheating yourself out of reaching your full potential, and you owe it to yourself to finish the semester strong. Simply tell yourself you’ll get through it, and then act upon it!

Reorganize

Set aside a few hours to collect all of your loose papers, rewrite or type up messy notes, or use Evernote to keep track of everything. D0ing so will help refresh your mind and give you easier access to what you need, when you need it.
Bonus tip: Because copying notes and hole punching handouts requires minimal brain effort, put on some songs, pop in a movie, or turn on the tube and multitask.

Take it Day by Day

Now that the tangibles are out of the way, tackle your time management turnaround. Make a list of all your responsibilities, from test dates to deadlines, to everything in between. Then, separate and highlight what’s a priority and what’s not. By physically seeing your assignments, you’ll be able to get into a proactive, inspired mindset of getting things done. (And when you do, make sure to reward yourself afterward!)

Study Together

Sometimes two (or more) heads are better than one; study groups are a great way to keep tabs on your progress while helping others in the process. (As a bonus, you may meet a friend or two along the way!) Here are some tips on how to start one and keep the momentum going once everything is set up:
  • Don’t be shy! Ask a few friends/classmates who sit around you or send out a mass email if you have access to a listserve. Chances are, there will be at least be a few people who will be more than happy to jump on board!
  • Split up work. If everyone on your team is willing, assign out chapters for certain individuals to cover and take turns “teaching” each other the material so you can all gain a thorough understanding of it.
  • Meet consistently. Cram sessions before a test can help some, but meeting more often will likely bring the most out of the group. You don’t have to sit down together every day, but touching base once a week or once every two weeks will encourage you to keep up with your studies.

 list of  5 beauty products.

1. Philosophy Purity One-Step Facial Cleanser
absolutely everything, so there’s no need to use a makeup remover beforehand. It’s very hydrating and gentle, you can  definitely seen an improvement in my skin tone and texture since you  started using it.

2. Philosophy Hope In A Jar

And, of course, to go along with the Purity cleanser is this magnificent moisturizer! My skin gets very dry and it’s very finicky, so a lot of times certain moisturizers are too greasy, not moisturizing enough, or just make me break out. This one is light, yet it gives me a very nice glow. No dry patches here! I absolutely love it and highly recommend this.

3. Mario Badescu Drying Lotio

I’ve been using this cult favorite product for about three months now and I have to say it definitely lives up to its hype. The ingredients are camphor and calamine, so it works quickly to dry out the blemish and reduce redness and size. It’s one of my favorite acne solutions because the ingredients are simple but effective.

4. Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay
The only ingredient is bentonite and the great thing about it is that it’s completely customizable! You can mix the powder with apple cider vinegar, green tea, anything you want. It’s a very powerful mask and excellent for drawing out toxins out of your skin.

5. Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream
product with a funny name,  it’s brilliant! This is another cult favorite that I’ve heard a lot of celebrities love (I believe Madonna is one of them), and it’s easy to see why once you use it. This cream is made up of beeswax, olive oil, honey, propolis, bee pollen, and royal jelly, essentially cream of the crop ingredients. It’s a bit pricey, but I promise, it’s worth it

Inspiration

Fashion inspiration is  not hard to come by. You can be inspired by a pair of handmade shoes you see on the streets to a sundress paired with some cool boots. BUT....remember you're not always going to feel that warm pang when you look at you're cupboard at realise you just made the perfect combo of you're cool shades and you're new tank top. Sometimes you're just NOT inspired..So I say...BE PREPARED!!!!!When you are feeling inspired, prepare a couple of aweing outfits so that on the days when you don't feel fashionable, you LOOK fashionable!:)The celebs above have definetly mastered this rule as they never fail to amaze people with their ahmazing outfits!!!:)

Tips and Tricks for Wearing High Waist Shorts

  • “High Waisted” is relative. To rock this trend, you don’t need to go out and find a pair of shorts that reaches above your belly button.
  • Tuck in your shirt. This is a no-brainer, but show off your trendsetting ways but tucking in your top and emphasizing your new shorts
  • DIY a pair! A good way to test the waters on this trend is to pick up a pair of jeans from a thrift shop and cut them into shorts yourself. Cuff the hems for an extra cute look. Don’t worry if you grab a pair that’s a little big on you  it  will look great with a belt
  • Show some leg. To balance out the length of high waisted shorts, I love the look of Nicole Richie’s (pictured above) short-shorts! This will elongated your legs and keep you from looking stumpy, if you’re worried about that sort of thing.
  • Embrace the more mature look. Another way to rock this trend is to go for a dressier look, . Pair your shorts with heels to feel extra elegant.
  • Consider the top. A tank or simple t-shirt will look chic with high waisted shorts, but pair them with a button-down dress shirt
  • .
  • Wear them with a cropped top! If you’re a little tummy-shy , high waisted shorts are perfect for pairing with cropped tops
  • Try them with swimsuits. High waisted shorts, especially the nautical variety, will look fabulous paired with your favorite bikini for a fun new cover-up. These will look great !
  • Be confident! It takes a bold girl to rock these babies — hold your head up high and let the world know how great you know you look!

a few hours sleep, you wake up late with only a few minutes to throw something on With barely , not enough time for a shower, and bad hair, what’s a stylish girl to do? Go around  with bad hair? Never!

Slip on a Headband
For an elegant style , smooth out your hair with a brush, then pull on a wide headband to cover up messier strands and look instantly polished. Try a shiny pattern hairband  in an outfit-coordinating shade for a super-trendy look that’s very right-now.
 Do a Messy Bun
This is the basic go-to staple it takes two seconds. Gather your hair on top of your head and wrap an elastic band around 2-3 times. Next, shape the bun with a few bobby pins that match your hair color, pull out a few ends to make it messier, and finish with a spray of hairspray.
 Try Chopstick Hair
This style only looks difficult.. it’s actually insanely easy to do. If  special hair sticks or even a pencil will work in a pinch.

Make a Chic Ponytail
If your hair is curly, use a little anti-frizz cream first. If you have straight locks, scrunch in curl cream to bring out some waves. Tease hair at the crown then pull into a low ponytail. Leave a ½ inch strand out and secure the ponytail with a clear elastic. Wrap the extra strand around the elastic and secure with a bobby pin.
Do a Front Hair Poof
This popular hairstyle is a great way to hide bangs you might be growing out, and is also very simple to do. Just separate the section of hair from temple to temple, tease it with a fine-toothed comb and secure with two bobby pins in an X. If your hair won’t stay in the bobby pins, tease the section more or use four pins.
 French Braid Sideways
this style is best if you’re good at French braiding, but with practice anyone can do it. Part your hair to the side then French braid across your hairline, securing with a clear elastic.  leave the rest of your hair messy. If you have natural waves, even better.

Peplum
I don’t know about you, but I feel like peplum is the comeback kid of fashion trends — every season, designers showcase it at their runway shows and stores carry tons of pieces, but it never seems to be out of fashion.
Digital Graphics
Digitally printed pieces will be popular this season. They are more complex and artsy than patterns we normally see on clothes it gives creativity look
To rock this look, be sure to keep the rest of your outfit simple, as always! If a dress or pair of pants is too loud for your taste, go for little pops of print, like those on a pair of shoes or a tasteful bralette peaking out under a sheer shirt or loose tank top.
Pastels
Pastels for spring seems like a no-brainer, but unlike the other trends I’ve listed, this trend will look the fashion-forward if you build your entire outfit around pastel pieces: Think pink pants, a light chambray shirt, and light yellow ballet flats.
To keep from looking like an Easter egg, add a couple tough-looking accessories to your ensemble — a leather wrap bracelet, menswear-inspired watch, or chunky earrings ought to do the trick.

Spring has finally sprung! The sun is up, the sky is blue, it’s beautiful (and so are you!).
Want to try a fun spring trend? You could spend hours studying runway shows, or take a shot in the dark at Forever 21, OR you could just let us do the work for you(sounds simple right)

Drop Waist Dresses & Tunics

Drop waist dresses and tunics will be popular again this spring. I love them because their femine look and  comfortable enough to wear for a long time,  They come in both casual and dressy styles, so there’s a drop-waist piece for everyone.

TIP.look for high quality materials that drape nicely against your body  a thinner polyblend-like material could cling to places you wouldn’t want it to.

Makeup Tutorial: Traveling Makeup Tips & Must-Haves

Girl packing a suitcase
Spring break is just around the corner, which means it’s prime travel season for college students! Whether you’re flying to Mexico or just taking a weekend trip to an amusement park, you will probably be traveling somewhere over the next few months.
My biggest issue when traveling is deciding on what makeup to pack. I hate taking too much with me in fear of losing it: It would completely ruin my trip to find out that my Urban Decay Naked Palette had been lost or even worse, broken. Not to mention the annoyance of lugging around a heavy makeup bag! So I tend to bring only the essentials.

Video: Travel Must-Haves & Travel Makeup Tutorial

Top 10 Travel Makeup Essentials:

In the video above, I list my top 10 travel makeup essentials. Here are the links to all the products I talk about in the video (feel free to substitute YOUR favorites!):

DIY Nail Art Tutorial: Rhinestones

Sparkling rhinestones
I’m going to to cover rhinestones.
One of the things I love about rhinestone nail art is that you can create so many different looks, from super-glamorous to girly to a little bit tough, depending on the size, color and shape of the stones. I know this may seem intimidating, but it’s easier than it looks!
There’s one thing I want to address before getting started: Yes, stick-on nail jewels that are made specifically for this purpose do exist, and may seem like they would be easier to use. However, there are several reasons why I recommend you use loose rhinestones bought from a fabric or craft store instead:
  • First, you can get at least five times more jewels for a fraction of the cost. (I paid $2-3 per pack, as opposed to paying $5 for a small sheet of stick-ons from Sephora.)
  • Second, there is a greater variety of loose rhinestones then there is of stick-ons made specifically for nail art. The options are endless!
  • Third, I would argue that putting rhinestones on this way will give you a longer-lasting manicure than stick-ons will. Think about it: If they are made so you can pull them off a sheet of paper in order to stick them on, you can accidentally pull them off your nails just as easily.

Bejeweling Your Nails, Step by Step:

Let’s get started! Here’s everything you need to know to give yourself a rhinestone manicure like the one above.

What You Need:

  • Base coat – I used Orly Bonder Rubberized Base Coat (both under the polish and to place the jewels on the nail).
  • Nail polish
  • Top coat – I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Top Coat.
  • Some type of small stick – This could be an actual orange stick for manicures or it could be something as simple as a toothpick. Anything around that size should do the job.
  • Pack of jewels with flat backings – I got mine at a fabric store for $1-3/pack. I wanted a variety of different gems to make some cool designs, so I bought several packs, but one pack would be more than enough to cover your nails.

What To Do:

Before you begin, make sure that the rhinestones you’re using are set out, right-side up, on a flat surface. This will make them easier to pick up later. Now it’s time to bejewel your nails:
  1. Put on you base coat and nail polish as you normally would.
  2. After your polish has dried, take your stick and dab a bit of base coat on it, then use the part of the stick with the base coat on it to pick up a rhinestone from the top (i.e. the flat back should not be touching the stick, so that you can place it directly on the nail).
  3. Dab some base coat on the flat back of the rhinestone. You should be able to see that there is base coat on the backing, but don’t use a ton – if it looks like there’s a little bit much, you can use a finger to gently wipe some off.
  4. Place the rhinestone on your nail. Do this gently. You don’t want to dig the stone into the polish and risk messing it up.
  5. Repeat these steps until you’re happy with them!
Once you’ve finished, put on a generous amount of top coat to really seal the stones onto the nail. This step is really important! I actually tried doing two of my friends’ nails, one with top coat and one without, to compare the durability of the two manicures. The friend who had top coat on her nails didn’t lose a single stone until 4 days after I did them, even though she abused them with baking, writing and wearing gloves constantly. On the other hand (haha), my friend who didn’t have top coat started losing hers in a matter of hours. So if you want to ensure that your beautiful handiwork stays put, make sure you put a top coat on!

What Do You Think?

Now that you know how to do these nails, I want to hear your thoughts! Would you rock rhinestone nails? How would you wear them? Tell us in the comments section below, and be sure to let us know how the tutorial works for you if you try it!

When you think of a fashion icon from the past, who is the first person that comes to mind? Marilyn Monroe? Audrey Hepburn? Edie Sedgwick, perhaps? While all three of those women have enviable styles that we absolutely love, there are so many other fashionable women that have graced the history page.
This week we’ll be taking a closer look at painter Frida Kahlo‘s artistic and eclectic sense of style. Read on to learn more about Frida’s life and unique style, then check out some outfit ideas to help you channel her look for yourself:
Frida Kahlo Style 1
